Owner Leo Morelli is the captain of all our charter boat trips. He has been fishing up and down the California coast from Morrow Bay to Fort Bragg for the past twenty-seven years. Leo also has experience fishing blue fin off the east coast so he is well versed in rough seas.

For the past five years Leo has owned and operated his commercial fishing boat, the Lou Denny Wayne, which he purchased from the Bassano family. The Lou Denny Wayne was one of the first commercial boats launched from the Santa Cruz Harbor in 1951. Thanks to his passion for fishing, Leo has been very successful catching salmon and tuna every time he goes out. When Leo is fishing commercially MTM is proud to sell all of his fresh fish when it is in season. During the winter Leo does not stop going out to sea. When crab season starts in November he is out crabbing to provide our customers with fresh crab for any occasion. If you are planning on purchasing crab during the holidays it might be a good idea to put your order in early to ensure your needs are met. This year crab season starts on November 15th.

Prior to fishing full time Leo owned his own construction business. During his years constructing homes and boat designs he became proficient in woodwork.
